We met up in the late afternoon.
It was scorching hot!
Khai couldn't make up his mind where to head to.
First he wanted to have lunch at Bugis.. but decided that...
He wanted to eat at Suntec instead.. but then decided that...
He wanted to eat at City Hall... but then it started to pour........
It poured really hard and we quickly headed to our next destination.
Weston.
He wanted to buy Barcelona's new 2011/12 away jersey.

By the way, we found out that Liverpool's kit will be sponsored by Warrior!

By the time we were done with buying it, the rain had stopped.
Had lunch at Suntec's Astons, twas quite empty when we arrived.
Lucky us.. because in less than 10 mins,
The place was close to not having any seats left.
That place used to serve really good tasting stuff.
But after eating there a couple of times,
The grade deteriorated...
Maybe they replaced their chef/cook or something along that line.

Anyway, we did some window shopping.
Both of us bought the same red Adidas Visor Essent 3S

Reminds Isa of when Khai used to always use his red visor back
When they first got together.
But that old visor was thrown away 'cause it dropped somewhere~

Headed back and watched F1!
Very interesting competition.. poor Button~
We were rooting for Vettel but he got second.
Oh well~

Chilli Crab

As the title suggests, we had Chilli Crab!
Met with the newly attached couple in the morning
To buy live crabs and ingredients to make the dish.
Had breakfast near the market and headed to the guy's place to cook.
Khai helped out for the first time.
It was surprisingly pretty simple to do the dish.
Had the crabs for lunch, only half of the serving though!
The crabs we bought were big and we were full with only half of it.
Watch live netball on tv, the World Cup tournament.
Then we played a few rounds of tennis on ps3.
:D
The guys carried on with a few rounds of FIFA 11 whilst the girls rest.
By 6, we heated up the rest of the crabs and had dinner then went to khai's place.
Watched tv before Isa went home.

It was worth the money to eat the chilli crabs.
Thing is... we'd probably won't want to eat crabs for the next few weeks... or months.

Seafood Paella Rice with Salmon

Paella

ingredients
• 6 boneless chicken breasts or thighs, preferably free-range or organic, skin on, each quartered
• sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
• plain flour, for dusting
• olive oil
• 100g chorizo, sliced
• 6 slices pancetta or streaky bacon
• 1 onion, finely chopped
• 4 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
• 2 litres hot chicken stock, preferably organic
• 2 large pinches of saffron
• 1 heaped teaspoon smoked paprika
• 500g paella rice
• small bunch flat leaf parsley, leaves picked and chopped, stalks chopped
• 2 handfuls peas, fresh or frozen
• 10 king prawns
optional: 500g mussels, scrubbed
• optional: 2 small squid, halved and scored

method
Preheat the oven to 190ºC/375ºF/gas 5. Season the chicken pieces and dust with flour. Heat a little olive oil in a large deep pan and fry the chicken until golden brown on both sides. Place the pieces on a baking tray and into the oven for 30 minutes.

Put the pan back on the heat. Add the sliced chorizo and pancetta or bacon and fry until browned and crispy. Then add the onion and garlic and cook until soft. Meanwhile infuse half the hot chicken stock with the saffron. Add the smoked paprika, rice and infused stock and leave to cook on a medium heat, stirring from time to time.

After 20 minutes the rice should be nearly cooked. At this point, pour in the rest of the stock along with the peas, prawns, and the mussels and squid if you are using them. Place a lid on the pan and cook for 10 minutes more.

Finally, add the cooked chicken and serve sprinkled with chopped parsley and a wedge of lemon.

Peri-Peri Sauce

The words Pili-Pili, Piri-Piri, and Peri-Peri all are used to refer to hot chile peppers, sauces and marinades made from them, and foods cooked with those sauces and marinades. So the original versions are done with Chilis.

ingredients
two or three fresh hot chile peppers (hot red peppers are typical; jalapeno peppers and poblano peppers are also good), chopped
four tablespoons lemon juice or lime juice (or cider vinegar)
four tablespoons oil
one tablespoon cayenne pepper or red pepper, or one tablespoon dried red pepper flakes (optional)
one teaspoon minced garlic (or garlic powder)
one tablespoon paprika
one teaspoon salt
dried or fresh oregano or parsley (or similar) (optional)

method
Combine all ingredients. Grind ( pestle and mortar) and mix the ingredients into a smooth paste. Adjust the ratio of cayenne pepper and paprika to taste.
Some cooks briefly cook the mixture before storing it.
"Aging" the marinade by storing it in a refrigerator for a few days allows the flavor to develop

Recipe for Pan-fried Salmon with Mustard Sauce
Ingredients
(Makes two salmon fillets, for two)

- 2 tsp wholegrain mustard
- 1 tsp honey
- 1/4 tsp dried dill (or 1/2 tsp chopped fresh dill)
- salt & pepper
- 2 pieces of salmon fillet
- butter or olive oil
Directions
1. Pull out the bones from the salmon fillet using your fingers or a tweezer.
2. Season the skin side of the fish with salt (rub) & black pepper.
3. Combine mustard, honey and dill in a bowl. Spread the marinade over the top of the salmon.
4. Melt a knob of butter and spread it evenly on the pan (or use olive oil). Pan-fry the salmon fillet, skin side down first, for about 4 minutes each side over medium fire.
5. Serve the salmon skin side down. Scoop the marinade sauce left on the pan and spread over the top of the salmon fillet.

The wings were fried with pepper, salt, flour and garlic powder.

Khai thinks the food is nice except for the rice.
Personally, I think the rice is too bland and the periperi sauce was a little too sour but I do love the juicy chicken wings and prawns.

Told him that I didn't want to cook anymore when he sent me home.
All he said was to keep practicing and he loved my cooking.
I think I suck at it.

It's another hot afternoon today
And I'm sipping my fav Earl Grey tea whilst watching anime.

Sorry.
Just felt like venting out some steam.
I'm not feeling negative of any sort though.

All through these years, I've learned that being patient pays off.
Patience is virtue.
In Islam, it is said that patience is a half of Iman,
The other half is gratitude (shukr).
But with faults, I have to admit that I am horrible at being patient.
All through these years, I keep telling myself that everything happens for a reason.
That for every downfall, going through tough times and whatnot,
There are lessons to be learned, remembered
And hopefully, not to be repeated, if possible.

That time I failed my final exams for my degree, which was also the first time I ever failed in anything.
The days I lost my loved ones.
Those months I fell into my own deepest pits of hell of depression.
With no one around when I needed someone the most.
The years where I never did feel real love from my family and being blamed for reasons I cannot comprehend.
My youth when I was always bullied to no end.
Many other bad memories which I do not wish to mention here.

For the very reason I keep falling again and again
Is the very reason why I knew that it was no use for me to regret about anything.
But while walking through this life, I did meet a few people who told me
Never to change myself.
Never to give up.

Change because I loved being different.
How can you blame me for being a deep thinker
If from the very age I could think maturely, in kindergarten,
I had to grow up in a life I had to think for myself, just to survive mentally?
As I grew up, I used to think of it as a curse.
That thinking too much was going to eat me up inside out until I'm all gone some day.
It did eat me up until I was nearly gone
That's when I forced myself to slow things down
Lock everything out and just breathe.
No deep thinking allowed for months.
That was tough, considering I did that all of my life.
It was a do or die thing.
Literally die if I give up, I guess.
Back then, that is.

6 months ago, I left my 2-year job.
The job I used to love my heart out.
I left 'cause partly I felt that I've done what I promised to
Partly I felt that I really needed to move on and get a mentor or...
Well, you know, get out there and get more experience than I ever can in there.
I guess I was partly tired of repetition and partly thirsty for knowledge and more experience.
Sounds cliche, but that's just me.
2 months ago, my now ex-boss talked to me about what I should be doing.
First, I wanted to open my own business but after calculations, I doubt it was going to make it.
Then, I wanted to move to New Zealand to work instead but I decided not to go in the end because of Khai.
It's my dream to own a lovely house in the mountains, living in a peaceful place.
I don't regret not being able to live in those dreams.
Just wondering where I should head to next.

I was growing frantic because I was going to hit that "3" "0" in 3 years time.
Plus, I was afraid that if I get married before doing everything I wanted to do,
My so-called plans won't work out the way I'd want them to be.

There are 2 groups of people.
One who are so negative that they should just dig a hole and live there.
One who would stand by you, even push you on to go ahead and live big.
I never did ever listened to the first group.
If I did listened to them, I wouldn't have worked in those places I've been to.
I wouldn't have grown to be who I am right now, as I am right now.
Plus, being rebellious, in a good way, I love to prove people wrong if I think there's even a slight possibility that I'm right.

Well, the 2nd group will keep asking me...
"What's stopping you?"
And keep saying, "Never give up my dreams".
I know I won't, but maybe it's not the right time yet.
It's not that I have not tried.
Maybe I've not tried hard enough and doing halfheartedly isn't going to cut it out.
But what if, it really is not the time yet?
I'm not giving it up.

At 7, I said,
1. I wanted to be a lawyer.
2. I wanted to be an entrepreneur.

At 15, I wrote down that
1. I wanted to be a Systems Administrator.
2. I wanted to be an entrepreneur.

Plus, all through my life, I knew that I wanted that house.

I erased the lawyer dream before I even reach my teenage years
'Cause I felt it just wasn't me.
I'm satisfied for being a system admin for more than 2 years.
Now, it's time to head out and break the wall.
But, with patience.

The tougher it is to get something, the more I want to get it.
For a while, a few days ago, I thought that I had finally started to regret on something.
Regretting to listen to a few people from the first group.
The ones who prefer to be on the safe side of life.
The ones who believes that you should just simply get that job for the sake of the money, enough to save up, get married...
And in my thoughts the continuation would include being trapped in a vicious cycle of a never-ending bills-to-pay until you die without really living your life.
That's enough to make me feel like I'd rather suffer.
Well, I am suffering right now.
Just that I don't wish to show it to anyone or say anything at all.
Until now... I suppose.

But those thoughts are there because
I'm nearing the end of holding onto the last thread of my patience.
The only fire that resounds in me keeps reigniting
By fate, I keep meeting/pass by people or read/watch about people who are worse off than me.
Every time I feel like giving up, these things come by.

I took time off lots of time to self-search myself but they always seem fruitless.
But these 2 months made me realize more than all those years put together
That it has never been the money
I was never lost... I just didn't understand enough
That I'll always be that girl who will always be think and feel differently from the norm and still be happy and proud of being that way no matter how much society view it as not being able to fit into that cookie cutter storyboard.
That... I had such patience, clarity and pure happiness within me that I never thought I ever had.

I was searching to get the highest post or the highest paying job
I was searching for peace
I was searching for my lost self
I was searching for positivity

Sure, whoever wouldn't want good pay,
But, it meant sacrificing something.
Lost and feeling so negative because I was threading through the wrong path.
There's nothing to be blamed for or anyone for that matter.
Who cares about blaming anyway?

If you're asking the wrong questions, you'll never get the right answers you'll need.

I have a new list now.
At 27,
1. I want to be an entrepreneur.
2. I want to write that book I never even started yet.
3. I want to make a difference in other people's lives.
4. I want to live within a peaceful life with those I love in whatever house I'd own.

I'm just a human.
I'm still learning and will always want to learn.
But if anyone were to need me for support, I'll be there
Just like I used to... be your pillars of strength.
This time, I won't want to cry saying that I never had a pillar for myself when I needed one
'cause I've always had that pillar within me.
From God.

We met up after work to have dinner at our fav place.
Then walked around for awhile before heading back to khai's place.

Played Virtua Tennis 4.
That's what we've been playing for the past few weeks!

Whilst playing, we watched the quarterfinals of the Wimbledon game
Between Federer and Tsonga.
What an intense game!!!
We were rooting for Tsonga... and he.. WON!!!
W0000T!
Now, all he has to do is beat the 2nd ranker, Djokovic
And then the number 1 player, Nadal.
The underdog.. woof woof~

Congrats to one of our friends on getting engaged today!

Khai knew him since the 1990s, where they would game together in CounterStrike.
Isabel knew him when she joined PdM's Counterstrike Clan in 2005.
We knew him as Optimu5 (gaming nick), also known as Salim!! :D

Grill 'Em

Went to PP to buy the ingredients.
Was already having tummy cramps.. horrible pangs of pain.
Still.. bought all the stuff, carried the suuuuuper heavy load home and cooked.
Accidentally cut my fingers a little 'cause I was feeling so uncomfortable.
The first two days of period always gets me bad.
*sigh*
But the food turned out pretty good except for the creamy mussels..
Which was a little too salty but tasted just like The Manhattan Fish Market's that I love so much!!!
Knew that I just had to try cooking that.
XD

The recipe

Grilled Mahi-Mahi Fillets and Asparagus with Orange and Sesame
Ingredients
* 4 mahi-mahi fillets (0.17-0.22 kg each)
* Salt and pepper
* 2 limes, juiced
* 3 tablespoons Tamari (dark soy sauce)
* 2 inches fresh ginger root, grated (about 1 1/2 tablespoons)
* 1 tablespoon vegetable or canola oil
* 20 blades fresh chives, chopped or 3 scallions, thinly sliced, for garnish

* Asparagus:
* 1-1 1/4 pounds thin asparagus spears
* 2 navel oranges
* 1 inch fresh ginger root
* 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds

Directions
Pre-heat a grill pan to medium-high to high heat. Season the mahi-mahi fillets with salt and pepper.

Combine the lime juice, Tamari, ginger and a little vegetable or canola oil in a shallow dish. Turn the mahi-mahi in the citrus soy marinade and let it marinate for 10 minutes.

Grill on a hot grill pan for 6 minutes per side for a 1-inch fillet, or until fish is firm and opaque.

Take one spear of asparagus and hold it at each and. Bend the asparagus until it snaps and breaks. Use this spear as your guide on where to trim the ends of your bundle of spears.

Using a peeler, make thin, long strips of orange zest from both oranges. Cut the ends off the zested oranges and stand them upright on a cutting board. Remove the pith in strips using sharp knife and cutting down from the top of the orange. Discard the pith. When the oranges are both peeled and trimmed, turn them on their sides and slice into 1/4-inch rounds, cross-sectioning the entire organge. Set the orange disks aside.

In a skillet with a cover, bring 1 inch of water to a boil with the zest of the oranges and grated fresh ginger root. Allow the orange zest and ginger to simmer for at least 1 minute, then add salt and asparagus spears. Simmer the spears 3-5 minutes until just tender. Drain the asparagus. Discard the orange zest and ginger.

Assemble a few spears on each dinner plate, layering them back and forth, criss-crossing the spears over orange slices. Sprinkle sesame seeds over asparagus and oranges and top with one grilled mahi-mahi fillet. Garnish the assembled fish and asparagus with chopped or thinly sliced chives.

I added in grilled prawns together with this recipe! Yummy!!

Mussels in Creamy Garlic Sauce

Ingredients
* 500g mussels
* 1 cup liquid (chicken/vegetable broth or stock, diluted white wine vinegar or cider vinegar, white grape juice diluted with white wine vinegar, ginger ale or water)
* 3 cloves of garlic
* 3 spring onions
* fresh parsley and chives
* 250ml double thick cream
* salt and ground black pepper
* Juice of 1 lime
* 4 oz. / 113g butter (at room temperature)

Directions
Finely chop garlic, spring onions, parsley and chives.

Prepare mussels by thoroughly scrubbing the shells in cold water and remove any excess bits and pieces that may be stuck to them. Remove the “beard”, this can be poisonous.

Place mussels in a large pot with the liquid. Cover and heat over a medium heat until the shells begin to open (about 5 minutes).

Quickly pour cream over the mussels and then add the garlic, butter, lime juice, spring onions and the herbs. Cover and cook for a further 5 minutes.

Remove from heat and pour everything into a large bowl that has been heated.

DONE!!!
Oh yes, fry the potato wedges!

Else, you can make Garlic Mashed Potatoes instead.

Ingredients
* 4 large russet potatoes, peeled and quartered
* 5 garlic cloves, peeled
* Coarse salt
* 1 stick (4 ounces / 113g) unsalted butter
* 3/4 cup (177 ml) heavy cream

Directions
In a large pot of cold water, bring the potatoes and garlic to a boil.Salt the water and cook until the potatoes are tender, about 20 minutes.Drain, return the potatoes to the pot and mash over low heat with the butter, cream and 2 teaspoons salt.

Ooooh yeah!

We completed the first 5 co-op campaign in around 2 hours
With a couple of achievements to grasp
And a whole new meaning to having fun playing the same game together again.
Khai gets Point Man all the time whilst Isabel gets Paxton Fettel.
Combining both our different game-play techniques,
Together, we make a great killing machine combo.

The game is pretty nice so far.
Not as spine-chilling scary as the first two
But the elements of killing is still as awesome.
The brothers make a great team, just as both of us do.
We've gotta try the multi-player coop some time soon.
For now, it's time to go to bed.

From the beginning of time (in our relationship timeline, that is)...
Without beating around the bush, I'd list out some things about me.
Good, bad, what I'd do and won't do.
To me, you don't need to go through that "acting" or "dating" phase
And then surprise your partner with another side of you in the future.
I guess that's why unlike most other couples who have their "honeymoon" period
Which usually falls during the first few weeks or months of their relationship
We had tons and tons of fights.
Not that it's good to quarrel a lot
But it didn't help that we were going through crap during that period of time.

Anyway, to cut this part short,
One of the things I told him I wouldn't do is cook.
I just feel that I'm one of those horrible cook who creates disaster all the time.
When I was in my early teens, I used to love cooking for my family
But after every meal, I always thought they weren't ever good enough.
Always too salty or too tasteless or too weird.
I guess I was my worse critic.
Yet, my family never complained and I take it that they were just too polite to say otherwise or they were just too hungry at the moment.

It's been months since I watched "The Rachael Ray" Show on Sony tv channel
At my bf's house.
I kinda forced him to pay a year's supply of that one channel.
FAIL!
It wasn't worth the money at all.
Initially, there was Gray's Anatomy and some nice shows
But after the seasons were done with...
Nothing else on it was ever good enough to watch.
All except the occasional RR show.
But I'd only be glued to it if
1. there was something interesting her guests wanted to talk about
2. a nice looking dish she cooked up
She always made them look so easy to make.

Well, nothing struck me until 2 weeks ago..
When I saw her making this stuff chicken thingy.
I was mesmerized by that few minutes.
Totally glued and giving my whole attention to her talking and showing the steps
'Cause I've got the feeling that my bf was talking to me at that moment.
Haha.. at least I think he did.
After the show, I told him... I'm gonna try cooking that.
Usually I'd go through that "No action talk only" mode, based solely on my mood.
Especially cooking.
Actually, I never did say I'd ever want to even try the very least to cook.
'Cause I knew I'd rather do something else.

But, after I got home, I googled on the full recipe.
I was going "OH NO!" when I saw fresh herbs in it.
Googling further, I found that there was a supermarket selling fresh ones.
Had to take a bus all the way to buy 'em.
The supermarkets nearby don't sell those.
It was supposed to be a recipe for chicken.
I couldn't find cutlets ones except non-halal ones
Without a choice, I bought the whole breasts instead..
In my head, I was thinking "how is this gonna work... what if I cut it wrongly?"
Because of that little thought, something popped out of my head.
"Let's buy fish too! So, if the chicken didn't turn out well, there's still the fish!"
Yes, I know.. as if fish was any easier to cook.
*sigh*
But I didn't think of that last part at that moment.
The bags that I had to carry back were extremely heavy!

Once home, I started the preparations.
My sister keep asking what I was cooking and said I was taking a long time.
>_>
I didn't answer her but neither did I care about the time.
I took an hour to finish the chicken and fish dish..
When it was supposed to be half an hour as suggested.
'Cause I couldn't find the grinder and I had to manually crush some of the ingredients by hand.
But, my spirits were up and I keep thinking, this HAS to be nice.
After it was all done, I packed 'em all in tin foil and in bags.
Got ready and left for my bf's house.
I left one of the fish and a few chicken pieces in the kitchen.

Bought a tub of Ben & Jerry Vanilla and some drinks on the way.
Scary as it seems... m bf said it was pretty good!
I was surprised that the fish was incredibly delicious and just right.
Not too dry and tasty just like the expensive fish we'd buy at expensive restaurants.
Guess... I was happy.
That night, he messaged saying I cooked the best fish and chicken ever and a job well done.
As pessimistic as I am, I don't know whether he's saying it so I would cook again
Or that's just plainly mean just as that.

But, it seemed so fun to cook that I've decided to try to cook again this weekend.
Plus, for the same food we eat, for example, at Astons, I cooked the stuff up at half the price.

I know I've said I won't cook when we get married...
But, maybe I will..
Once in a while.

We went down to Bugis.
Khai booked his hairdresser to have his hair cut and *gasp* colored!

We had lunch first since we reached there pretty early.

Time does fly by really fast.
Sometimes I feel like I'm back to the beginning...
To the start of the story of us.

Whenever I have some free time.

Let's start updating a little.

I remembered about this blog just now because during lunch,
My bf told me that he and Rukia couldn't logon to FlyFF after the so-called servers mergers.
She was having problems logging in and he wants to see his beloved chars.
Had to reset all the passwords a little while ago.
Seems like all my chars are there.
I did do the login before the merger.. else all will be wiped off
For chars lvl 60 and below, if my memory serves me well.
Not that I login anymore since 2009 though.
So that's that.

My bf has been playing his ps3 and some games on his alienware laptop...
Which he bought a month ago.
Me... I've been trying a couple of closed beta mmorpgs
But apparently, nothing was worth playing longer than at most a couple of weeks.
We don't play the same game anymore though but we'd play a tennis game on his ps3
When I go over to his place.
Last we gamed together on pc was WOW and we've not played that for months.
Oh.. we did play L4D once in a while together after that.
We went to Avril Lavigne's Black Star concert last month too!
It was awesome!
Last movie we watched, was on Sunday, which was "The Green Lantern" with a couple of friends.

It's been AGES since I update this place.
Gonna make a short update.
Having break for my night class.
Yeah.. still having my night classes.. it's really tiring me out!

Khai and me are playing Aion now.
Let's see how long we'll last in this game.

My birthday was great!

Today was fantastic!
I LOVE MY BF (even how annoying he can get)!

Well, today's an epic day for me 'cause I have a 40% pay rise!

Some Nonsense

I feel guilty for not updating this blog.
Not really sure why I still feel obligated to update it.
For one, the original chars (names of this blog) has been passed on.

Anyway, I was so caught up with work and my night classes.
Kinda upset that I get tired too often for my liking.
I really need to buck up before taking the exams.
*sigh*
I still love my work.
Getting to play with my toys is pretty much fun to me.
Toys = servers + desktops + laptops + network
+ oh.. whatever you want to place in this equation.

Sadly, I'm starting to wonder if this is what I really wanna do.
I don't see myself doing these things in the future.
I love it to bits but ... *sigh*
Can't explain the analogy.

Sometimes, when I get stuck with a huge problem,
I pretty much get upset.
Not because I can't do it.
(Except for the fact that I've never done most of what I've been doing)
Just because I feel so alone while working.
I mean... how in the world do I speak to newbies about tech related stuff?
No offense to the workplace peeps.
And it'd be the perfect timing that the images of my late boss would come to mind.
Like I've said before.. he was my mentor.
Sometimes I wish he was around to just tell me I can do it.
Anyone else who tells me the same thing just doesn't have the same effect.
But.. *sigh*... I'd still have to go on and do things myself no matter what the situation.
Hey.. at the very least, I saved $ for my company last week.
Errrm... by finding alternate solutions.

You know, if I can do all these by myself,
I'm wondering why I'm still not strong enough and step out like my ex-boss did.
As in, be an entrepreneur.

I'm having my holidays.. had to finish up my yearly leave
So I'm "wasting" my 2 weeks leave now.

I've been reading back all the Diablo and Warcraft books again.
Some new ones I'm gonna buy soon.

I remember the times when I was gaming with my ex's friends and some exs.
*My bf will just slay me if I talk about crappy stuff*
Every time we have some casual gaming talk,
You know, those strats (strategy) talk and stuff,
We'd come to the part where it's about "history talk"
Those stories/lore based on the games.. more like vice versa.. pardon me,
They were all years older than me.. all guys..
And like a typical Star Wars geek,
They know every bit about the story behind each small part of a game.
The storyline has always been an integral part of a game.
Me, being a nerd who read too much, I guess, I fit in that group well enough.
Anyway, if you start thinking that they dress and act like nerds/geeks..
Or are even fat at all,
You are so wrong.
People still generalize and have such a hazy elucidation.

A lot of gamers nowadays prefer just gaming for its other "pleasurable aftereffects"..
Hmmm... whatever reason they game for.
And lesser of knowing the facts behind a lot of things that makes certain things exist.

Sometimes I do hate the fact that I want to know the reason for things too much
Even though I don't need to.
Like those times when I was still studying (ok.. I'm still studying)
But since I was young until I took my degree..
I was just digging up my own coffin to find out more than I should.
(For wasting my time looking for facts that I need not know as they will never be out for exams)
You know... those kinda things.
And people will be telling me over and over again
That I don't need to know the reason for its very being on this planet.
And I'd be super pissed off and would just do my own reading up.

It was fun talking to those kinda people.
They rarely exist nowadays.
Most just wanna kill or shoot brains out of a rotting skull.
It's good in a way.. improves reflexes and the way the brain works positively..
Can't remember exactly.. but there were a few researches on that not long ago.
They just want the best items and best strategy.
Okay... there are benefits in that too.
lol.. forget it.

I'm one of those who indulge in knowing things.
I know very well it doesn't really matter if you don't know the mechanics of things.
So, I'll stop talking crap about this now.

Just realized that my birthday will be in 5 days time.
I feel so old!
Just sad that I feel that my life has not been used up to its fullest.
I'm not at my peak yet.. you know.. "have not reach my dreams" kinda thing yet.
How in the world am I ever gonna know what I should do next?

Been dying to take time off,
Being needed too much at work and whatnot.

We were already at the bus station by 7+am
but didn't get a move on until near to 9am.
A 5-hour journey which brings us near to around 2+pm.

Once we reached Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from the bus station,
Slowly made our way to the hotel, "Paradiso, Bed & Breakfast".

I'll make a little "promotion" on this place.
Just
Sorry for not taking pictures there but we were rarely in there.
Only came in to sleep and went out early.
Well, it's cheap, near to A LOT of great day and night life destinations,
Near the bus terminal and monorail stations,
The owner, Hazdy, was more than happy to chat and help you,
Toilets/Shower and rooms are super clean
In short it's an awesome backpacker's place to get back to.

An impromptu decision of heading to Genting Highlands.
Never did plan it.
Since the bus heading there was fully booked
We took a taxi there.

If you do plan to go to Malaysia.
Please bargain with the taxi driver on the pricing before you board.
And some people think that the meter is good.
Unless you think that 10 cents per second is alright for you..
Go ahead.. indulge in that.

Well, we headed to the Cable Car Station.
Woot!

Bought an all-day, indoor and outdoor ticket each.
Boy.. did we enjoyed ourselves.
6 hours of fun!
We rode on nearly all the rides.
Nearly because the biggest roller coaster was closed.
Grrrrr.

There was this really nice waterfall leading to a pond of Koi fishes.. tons of 'em.

The stupid train ride wasn't scary at all and here's his expression when leaving the place.

I had "?"s all over my face.
What IS the point of the trip?
The inside was virtually EMPTY except it being really dark inside.

It was told that it was a scary place inside a long time ago.
But soon enough, the place attracted real supernatural into its vicinity..
That even the workers got scared of working at that particular ride.
So, they decided to clear out those scary stuff and I guess... we had the empty aftermath ride.

Each of us used to take this when we went to Genting as kids.
Another nostalgic moment.

Thanks to the first car (which had a fault in the engine)
NONE of the other cars (including ours) could move any faster than a tortoise.

What a waste of a trip.
But we got amused by the long line of cars trailing behind us.

We were taking the water log ride.
Reminded us of Har Paw Villa in Sg.

We had a ride on this one.
Pretty scary.

And for those who love chocolate.

Time to head over to the indoor part.
It was damn boring in there.

They liked this part so much that he took a picture of it.
Don't ask me why.
I have no clue.

We bought a trip in a haunted house.
This time.. it made me shocked countless of times.
Grrrrr...

Anyway, this "ghost" should really act more scary than that.

They looked like WANTED criminals.
Roflmao!

We headed back out to see if the Cockscrew roller coaster was open.

It was finally opened BUT it was closed again when we reached there.

Gotta love the breathtaking view.

It was an hour trip back to the mainland.
Headed to a malay seafood restaurant.
Food wasn't that great but its still alright overall.

The guys wanted to watch some soccer matches at night so I headed to bed
While the "tv watched them" in the lounge (fell asleep while watching).

We woke up a little late in the morning.
Checked out and passed by this Family Day event thingy.
We were heading back to KLCC to have brunch.

Had donuts for a quick breakfast while waiting for the restaurant to open.
We wanted to eat at The Manhattan Fish Market.

Btw, there are tons of cars around with the 3 letter words on their number plates.
WTF, WTH, WTC, WTB, WTS.. etc.
The first letter "W" stands for Wilayah, Malay term for federal territory

After walking to a few shopping centres,
We headed back to Times Square to watch another movie, My Spy.
It was hilarious.

Nice one.

The bus came late by 1 and half hour!
But somehow we got compensated with a 1st class bus.
The ride back was fast, just under 4 hours and we were back at Lavender.

But it wasn't a good trip back from there.
First we had to walk all the way to another side of the MRT from our destination
Because ALL the ATMs had no more money in 'em.
Can you believe that?
WTH.

Then in the cab, there was a roadblock toward our place.
Wasted 10 minutes of our life there.
But we got home eventually.

Overall, we had fun.
"Underall", I hate the pollution that aggravates my skin to a bad condition.

I do miss my homeland.
I don't like the cab "problems" (payment-wise and physical condition of the cabs)
I don't like their faulty traffic lights (80% of the time they're not working) for the pedestrains.
I hate the weird "side parking" of vehicles.
Taking up the space of where we're walking
And the holes in the pavements/roadside sewer.. kinda scary.

We've been been having fun spending
Way TOOOOOOOOOOOOO much last and this week.

He bought lots of clothes, PS3 Slim, another FIFA10 for ps3,
Edifier M1335 Speakers, HDDs and Windows 7.
Clothes (so expensive =.=") and Edifier M2300 Speakers for her.

And we shared on a set of DJ HERO Renegade Edition featuring JAY-Z and Eminem.

We headed to our usual spot.. SimLim.. to get our stuff.

What happens when you've gotten a few chars to a cap level
And items fit to say "Ok.. that's it! What can be better than this?"?
(Obviously it isn't godly enough but enough to satisfy your killing craving)
You find something else to start the vicious cycle of destructing things
Be it dead or alive (no no.. not the game)!

Did you ever notice the l4d2 boycott going on until mid last month?
Some reasons include the sequel is here too soon
Or the lack of additional downloadable content for Left 4 Dead.

But,
"In a video interview posted on October 29, 2009, Gabe Newell stated,
"for people who joined the Boycott Group on Steam,
we can look at their pre-orders,
and they're actually pre-ordering the product at a higher rate

We watched Saw 6 just now.

Isn't there a little dark psycho in every one of us?
If you do hate this kinda movies.. you ain't one.
(So don't get too petty over that.)
The gore.. the blood.. the cutting.. dicing.. sawing.. blowing up
Pretty sad in some moments.
Although the fire has diminished, the main elements are still around.
Sadly enough, the plot was quite predictable.

Sorry to break some sort of bubble but there's gonna be Saw 7.

So, which or how much of a combination are you?

If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa.
Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise
though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it.

I tried to concentrate and see it turning anti-clockwise
But all it gave me was a headache.
So, I tried this test instead, Are you right or left brained?

All I got was "45% Left Brained, 55% Right Brained".
So, if I use nearly half of each side,
then why in the world can't I see it turn anti-clockwise?
+_+ (Yeah I know... so what?... get over it)

The left side of your brain controls verbal ability, attention to detail, and reasoning.
Left brained people are good at communication and persuading others.
If you're left brained, you are likely good at math and logic.
Your left brain prefers dogs, reading, and quiet.

The right side of your brain is all about creativity and flexibility.
Daring and intuitive, right brained people see the world in their unique way.
If you're right brained, you likely have a talent for creative writing and art.
Your right brain prefers day dreaming, philosophy, and sports.

I've always envied the left-handed people.
When I was much younger, I would secretly pretend I was a left-handed writer
But, my handwriting would always turn out horrible although readable.
Back then, I never thought for the reason why..
Why I wanted to be like them.
Was it because I wanted to be different?
(most people are right-handed after all)
I love the fact that these people are more artistic than others.
I still don't really know why.

But I do know that eventually,
Envy thoughts melted into actions.
Dared one's self to work hard just to be like them.
So, instead of being the original "always attuned to facts",
I fostered the art and music side too.
I hated those when I was young because to me,
Those (music and art) are really tough subjects to master.
Hated maths but due to the usual constraint of needing to get good grades,
It's more of a forced action just to get it done with.
Soon, I was more right-brained than I originally was.
Writing poems, songs, drawing, designing, singing, sports.. you get the point.

My friends still see that "stick to the facts" attitude going strong..

They excel wonderfully in that niche segment of theirs.
So, yeah, I will always envy my bf for his gifts.

I went to his place as usual.
Only difference is that Borderlands just came out
And he wanted to see my items and see how I fare at playing it.

Unfortunately...
My character profiles were NOWHERE to be found!
No lag because data is stored locally.
Okay ppl... guess where is the location of the file in steam?

I love the game actually.
Addicted to it.
So much so, now I can play until the wee hours..
I've stopped doing that for months.
Even Torchlight couldn't bring me to play that long.
Maybe 'cause I got bored of playing alone..
Probably will be different when it comes into the mmo side.

Not a lot of of our gaming friends are into RPS (Role Playing Shooter) though.
The pure RPGers doesn't like FPS and the FPSers doesn't like leveling.
Thank God we have a friend who plays the Soldier medic.

[Spoiler]
The game ends when at playthrough 2 though.
If you did a hit and run leveling.. I guess..
You'll be stumped with not knowing what to do next..
Either create another kind of character or go looting with friends
Or even PVPing.
I've forgotten the name of the map but we went into there by chance
(Me.. pressing "E" randomly at some place.. initially)
Got teleported and we had a quick "Quake" game there.

Anyway, here's some tweaks.

There are a few glitches in the game though.
At some point in time, it does get really annoying.

I guess L4D2 will still be in the spotlight as soon as it emerges.

Yay! I'm broke from buying 3 games in one month.

A few days ago, being bored..
I read a few comments in youtube on our videos.
And one of them seem to be so intrigued that we game too much.

At first, dissing how much we don't have a life
But later on iced his cake by saying, as long as we're a happy weird couple.

There are 2 faculties in the school of thoughts, in this subject.
One loves the thought of a gaming couple and another against it.
The ones who love the thought usually comes from the gaming sector..
In short, the gamers themselves.
I mention usually.. I did not say all.
The ones who are against it believe in lesser (or no) gaming habits.

The very reason why we got to know each other further in the first place..
Gaming.

20 to 50 years down the road..
I'll still see a gamer in me even if I wanna pursue in other things.
To be with a non-gamer.. I'd probably wouldn't have much time for my games.
Which would be boring and would someday make the relationship dead sour.
Been there.. and hate it!

There are some people who think that once these gamers grow older..
They'll "grow out" of gaming.
It really isn't an age thing.

So does that mean that in the same way that I love
and appreciate other things, like music and art..
As you grow older, you'll grow out of these?
Why don't people just generalize that in the same category?
Just because people tend to see "gaming is for the young"
And the acceptance of other activities as more "superior" than of others?
Sports = good.. music = good.. gaming =/= good.

I was amused by that.
The same way you'd probably be amused by my theories.
But this is my point of view and even if I have mine,
I'm always open to others..
Probably why I see a lot of diversions along one way.

I can talk about another funny topic that runs with this topic.
People thinking that we're a fat, boring, no friends, no work
Nerdy couple who probably never met in real life.
The nerd part is true.
I love reading and studying and we are both IT geeks.
But you can judge anything else for yourself
Actually, go ahead and impart whatever you want to believe in your minds.
I doubt I even need to say that.

Maybe some day, we'll go on more than a 48-hour non-stop gaming couple time.
We've done a 48-hour gaming thingy together.
"Dead" by the end of the 2nd day.

Satisfaction is never weighed by what others believe in fulfilling for most..
But what you think is fulfilling for yourself.

I'm still surrounded by so many (in real life.. not the online world)..
who believe in a "lesser gaming" environment.
Got tired of explaining to these people.
Has become a really old topic for me.

She's finally a hero.
Isabelll that is.

Yeah yeah.. don't rub it in..
That I take AGES to level this 3-year old character up.
After all, unless anyone would ever know her history
Of going into a hiatus for as long as even up to a year,
You'd never understand.

Only reason to why I'm still playing in that game
Would be because I know very well that my bf loves those pixel cute-stuff.
And it's really difficult to be on par with him in some games.

Reminiscing the past,
I gotta say I do hate part of her history.
After a long hiatus, I made her into an even more quiet character.
No one really understands
Why I refuse to interact with anyone.
It's not that I don't wanna have friends.
Just that, I'm kinda tired of having fake ones..
Tired of the drama that people can't wait to create..
Tired of those really nice friends who tend to disappear.

I pretty much have created a character who people see
As maybe, somewhat proud or without courtesy due to silence.
Not that I am not aware of a lot of things going around.
I might refuse to talk
But unless you can really understand,
It should not even matter that I even exist.. right?

I'm not sad or upset or angry.
Just trying to explain some things.

Unlike people of the norm,
I'm not here to conform to some rules that most people think are perfected definitions.

Not because I love breaking rules
But because there are some things in life that should not only have
One universal rule that rules all other rules,
That cookie cutter solution.

Before I end this post,
There is one more thing I want to say.

When Isabelll was created a few years ago,
I wanted to be that nice hardworking helpful ringmaster
Who'd do the best of what her job expected her to.

I've been a healer/medic/whatever it's called to be at the back-end helping others
For most of my main characters in a lot of RPGs.
(Emphasizing main).

Who knew I gave that up when it's quite impossible to reach hero being fs all the way
I really mean never ever even kill a mob by herself.

Being a killer killed the FS.

Hmmm... when I do play Borderlands,
I'd start being thirsty for blood on my own.
Can't wait for all the pure killing machines in L4D2.

Ok.. since DJ Hero is not coming here anytime soon,
It's just gonna be Borderlands and us for now.

FPS + RPG.
Nothing new in itself (a mixed genre).

Looks exciting enough.
Why do they always limit the girl characters to.. well.. one?
Maybe I'll start falling in love with the hunter, Mordecai.
His skills look awesome.. apart from his other 3 counterparts.
Okay, so Lilith has pretty cool invisible spy mode thingy going on.
(I used to use that nickname in one of the MMOs I've played before.
But I got stuck with IsabeL AntyraeL later on.)
An assassin made to perfection.
Talking about assassins... when in the world is D3 coming out? *SULKS*

On the bigger picture,
It is kinda expensive.

I suck at doing reviews and anyway it's not as if
the game is out for me to rant much about it.

1st and foremost,
Hari Raya Aidilfitri/Eid ul-Fitr!

Khai and me went visiting with his dad's family yesterday.
It was a good day.
Kept me occupied from being upset.
Bad thing was.. EVERYONE kept asking when we're gonna tie the knot.

I'm already feeling sick.
Not that I don't want to get married.
Just that.. I HATE being pushed.

I'm already having a crisis with work..
They want me to think about marrying?
At least Khai knows how things should be and go.
Now it feels like I don't want to follow them again next year.
*sigh*

Saturday was a really sad day.. at least for me, it is.
Some colleagues called me up and chatted about it for awhile.
Funny..
How I can't say much about this matter.
Each have their own perspective of "closeness" with him.
Mine is of a student-teacher kind.

A friend advised me to move on.
Keep my options open.
I understand what it's supposed to mean.
But that would feel like leaving the place stranded.
A tiny voice would chip in that they're rich enough to outsource again.
I couldn't think clear today.
Oh gosh.. fixing a simple thing took longer than usual.

This time, his monitor went dead on him.
So... I brought him to Sim Lim to buy a new monitor.

His old one was a 19" 2ms Samsung LCD.
Since my budget was 300 bucks.. we bought the 21.5" P2250 Samsung LCD.
Hmmm.. there goes my savings for this month.
Well, next month's new purchase of a new casing will make me feel better.
I've decided to get the same one as his.
It looks cooler than the CM HAF 922.
Didn't see NZXT’s Lexa S at Sim Lim anyway.

Went out with my bestie yesterday
and well.. she didn't get to buy what she wanted..
The whole of level one of the mall was closed for a private sale.

My bf has been going gaga over Zee Avi
ever since "Bitter Heart" came out.

I neither hate nor love this piece of music.
But he's been pestering me to go to her show
(which was to be held on the 13th and today, 15th)..
As if he has already gotten the tickets.
He never did get 'em though.

Last night, since I got so bored that I logged into FB.
Bahh.. it's been quite some time since I went in..
(Practically only logging into there only if I'm bored.)
And our friend, another Khai, was inviting anyone for today's event.
He had a spare of those "invite only" tickets.
Messaged him to message my bf.

My bf promised to bring me to Geylang the next few evenings
Until I find the right baju kurung for him
Because I intend to buy for him a new baju kurung
of the same color as mine.
Not buying a new pair of kurung for myself for this year's hari raya..
Gonna wear the expensive piece my mom bought for me mid this year
That I only wore once for my aunt's wedding.

We only went Geylang once during this Ramadan..
That was because he was craving for some dendeng.
We hate crowds.
So, we postponed the purchase to this last week of Ramadan..
Which will actually have a higher human traffic than the past weeks..
Ironically.

I know he's been wanting to go to Zee Avi's private event..
Really badly.. arghh.. with all the pestering the past week.
Until he found out he couldn't get the tickets and gave up.

I did the shopping by myself.
Couldn't find the exact color from all other shops..
Went to the store that I had bought mine
And got the same colored one there.
Didn't wanna go there initially 'cause everything is expensive there.
I mean... it cost me 120 bucks for just a guy's baju kurung.
Idk.. it seems expensive.. but it's one of its kind.
The seamstress only made one of that.. just like mine.
The clothes there are tailor-made..
Hand-sewn with those really nice unique details.
And she only sews one design in one size for most of her collection..
Unless for some reason, you want her to sew the same design again.

I hope my bf likes it.

Since I've already bought the new GeForce GTX260 and a new power supply.
Next in line would be a casing and RAM.

That in itself is another topic altogether.

I like this song.

In episode 19, it was about dolls.
A month ago, I watched an old English horror movie about dolls.
I don't like 'em.
Dolls that is.

I love figurines.. in fact I collect them.
But those either carved out dolls or those with "real" glassy eyes.
Ahh.. those.. do give me the jitters.
Blythe dolls.
I can't help it but stare at them.
After all, I'm a huge fan at looking at beautiful things.
They don't look scary but it always reminds me of Chucky.
Remember that old movies revolving around Chucky the doll?
It doesn't seem scary now but back when I was a kid.. it was.
And those dolls used for Ventriloquism..
Now those are creepy.

Okay.. back to the anime.

It got to the point that I did get bored of watching it.
Because it was the same all the time..
Someone got hurt and angry.. want revenge..
Pull the red string.. and the bad guy/girl gets ferried to Hell.

Revenge.. unfair yet sweet.. fair yet tainted.
Ever thought of it?
Someone who came into your life and made life a hell (on earth) for you.

Whatever that stopped you from doing a negative deed
To destroy the other party's life (which is what you'd call revenge).
Your real beliefs.. religion.. faith.. family/friends.

And it's made fair.. if you curse that person, you'll join soon enough too.
In Hell that is.
No one is angelic.. no one is perfect..
There will always be someone insane enough to be consumed by "the wrong side"
And make others' lives horrible.

on what is right and what is wrong.

They created a real live action 12-episodes version of the anime.

And finally.. we niche the problem down to the internet connection.

Just a few weeks ago I bought a new router.
I got so frustrated with the lag that 2 days ago,
I bought a new GTX260 graphics card and a higher Watt power supply.
400 bucks being eaten up.
Seriously delicious...... when I tried it at my bf's place.
But when I brought my com home..
It made no significance whatsoever.
Apprehending that the internet connection SUCKS big time.

And the times when I called the "green big fat line"
Asking them about the slow connection
And them NOT HELPING AT ALL!

Who never seems to be at home most of the time..

Very prompt even though our time zones are different.

There was one time when the website and their servers went down
But hmmm.. I think they were doing some shifting of servers..
I accidentally deleted that email message.
But I remember vaguely that they informed their customers
About them just rented or was it bought a bigger place (whichever it is)
And they had to temporarily bring down the servers to shift place..
Something like that.
Hmmm.. they didn't think of mirroring.. did they?

However there was one funny occurrence.
There was once they did a mass email regarding a false fire.
The fire bell went off and everyone was told to leave the building
Because supposedly, there was a fire.
The whole building's electricity had to be cut off.
So all the servers had to be turned off.
But there wasn't a real fire.. just something happened with the bell.

I don't really mind anything happening.
But if you have a lot of data and forgotten to backup somehow,
Well, not a pretty safe place to be at.
LOL!

Anyway, I was just trying out with this company.
Maybe I'll move if I ever feel like it.
The other companies have pretty good features for just a few dollars more.

I've heard horror stories online about some web hosts.
Bad customer service.. in fact none.. after a few days of waiting for their reply.
Loss of data.
They mention that it's 90%-99% (usually they place this range) uptime
But it came out to be a lie.

For purchasing domain names, there are those who take you for granted
And force you into going into some advertisement plans of some sort.

Well, whatever it is,
Do more research!
Ask around.. especially friends who have taken all these up before (experienced).
Ask the customer service there about the stuff that you're going to buy.
Calculate properly.. and remember to take care during transactions.
Don't rush into buying something.

I have no idea why this came to me.

Been grinding level way too long.

I'm tired and sleepy but I'll make a quick post.

Today's seminar was good in the first half.
The Cisco Endpoint Security Seminar.
Second half was boring because it was pretty irrelevant to me.
By then, others were getting restless too.

One good thing about going is.. networking.
No, not the computer network.

The social network.
Got to know the person beside me is an IT Network Security Asst Manager.
And he wanted to hire me if there was a spot in his company.

He must be joking!
(No, I'm not on my high horse trumpeting on my horn..
I fell off that horse just now. =.="
Taken aback thinking what a fly I am compared to all these big shots in the room)

FAIL!

My only FAILED guess would be because
I reminded him of himself when he just started off.
Idk.. that's my only guess because I didn't even promote myself
Unlike when I'm in a job interview.
Not that I'm ever good at job interviews.
My mind loves to go blank so very often.

Electronic Arts chief financial officer Eric Brown has said that “the online part of our business is growing as much as 60% year over year" and that the PC is rapidly becoming the largest gaming platform in the world.

Speaking during the company’s quarterly and annual earnings call, Brown said that EA’s digital game distribution revenue has almost doubled year-over-year to $80 million. Digital direct revenue as a whole also grew to $400 million during the year ended March 31.

"This is a big year for us… In terms of distribution, the way we look at a lot what's happening in the future is, we've got probably a billion PCs out there in the world," he said, according to ShackNews. "Very rapidly the PC is becoming the largest gaming platform in the world, just not in a packaged-good product."

"As you look at what that means in terms of distribution of product, we think that's incredibly exciting because it's going to open the market to new demographics, new countries and new types of gameplay."

Company CEO John Riccitiello also said that EA plans to introduce two additional "online subscription services" later in the current fiscal year, although he didn't elaborate.

Last week EA Sports president Peter Moore told Edge that the division’s business model of “shipping a physical disc for the PC simply isn’t working” and that online was where the company’s products could be brought to life in the PC space.

I know this is a few months old news.

But remember when we had to buy floppy disks to play games?
From 8-inch to 5¼-inch to 3½-inch floppy disks!

Sometimes, there were 8 pieces of them in a box, to install one game.
I love flapping it around.

Floppy thingys.

When it changed to CDs, the numbers in the box became much lesser.
Then the DVD came as a one-off thing.
Soon after, downloading became "a must".

So, what did I miss out?

Digital Gaming using thumb drives.
So if you did not download it straight from the game's website,
You would actually purchase the game in a physical shop
But instead of in a box, the game is transferred to your thumb drive.

They tried this in the music industry and it was a "FAIL!".
Apparently, it is a "WIN" in this situation.

I'm a fan of collecting game packages.. well.. the boxes.
People call it "a collecting dust" hobby.
LOL!

Downloading still beats all these.
It's faster to obtain your game as soon as it gets released..
Especially the fact that some countries
Do not get their goods as fast as others does.
It's cheaper too.
The packaging does absorb a lot of expenses.
It saves the environment too.
Lesser paper packaging/plastic bags to be thrown away to waste.
And it's your own thumb drive.
Do whatever you want with it.. until.. ermm.. you accidentally misplace it.

Hmmm...
I still love those boxes anyway.
Pretty little buggers.

Walking through the MRT underground pathway
I saw these guys carrying advertisements.
Those "I need a job" website.

To think so many working people are whining about their job.
I'm not saying I'm sick of listening to people being upset over what they're doing.
Just wondering if they even know that they're a lucky bunch
Even with all the mess and problems that arises.
Me.. I'm not taking it for granted.
I try so hard not to see the awful side of things.
Still remember quitting the second job just after I graduated from University.
And that was partly because I was having major depression
Couldn't concentrate in work.
And couldn't work after that for more than half a year.
I don't mind learning from the "bad luck".
But it was a long trip back to seeing things as being normal again.

I remember when my dad left his long-time job as a teacher.
That was during a downturn a long time ago.
It caused a huge commotion because he couldn't find a job for a long time.
He did part-time jobs here and there but never liked any other jobs.
I guess I inherited that part of him.
Being so picky!
Of caused that caused money problems in the family.
The tough times.
Me.. being the one who is always blamed for nearly everything..
Even though I have nothing to do with the problem.
Has to just swallow the anger of the lioness.
But oh well.. she finally saw everything clearly after my crazy episode started.
Hummm.. I understand why I'm chosen to be a punchbag all those years.
But too bad I exploded in the end.

Anyway, I was getting my breakfast in the morning
And I saw these 2 ladies walking in front of me.
They had these high and pretty pairs of stilettos on.
I'm wearing Mary Janes today as I feel too tired to walk on high heels.
Then I suddenly remembered..
There are countless of times when I wore high heels on the wrong days.
Truth goes that I HATE heels when I was much younger..
Not until I worked here.
Probably because everyone in this district is dressed so prettily.
And I realized that I'm falling deeply in love with those things.

Okay.. back to the wearing 'em on the wrong days.
The worst was when I had to carry 3 heavy desktops
The ones with really heavy casings.
I was thinking of using a trolley but couldn't find one.
Oh what the heck... carrying them on high heels isn't a fun thing to do.
I finally gave in to leaving a pair of flat sandals under my table
So I can use it whenever I have to.
And I thought that carrying 2 heavy laptops out to a shop
And walking a long distance was tiring enough.

Call me an idiot for wearing heels.
Can't help it.
They're pretty!
I get jealous when other girls get to wear 'em and I can't just because
My job doesn't allow me to.
Weird enough I would not allow myself to wear 'em during weekends.
Feels as though weekends is flats days and weekdays are heels days.

Then it was my breakfast..
I very well know that drinking Milo in the morning gives me a stomach ache.
But I would jolly well still drink it 'cause it's nice.
And yeah.. I did have a tunny ache after that.

What can I say.. I don't want to consume caffeine.

Suicide gaming marathon yesterday.
The internet at home has been lagging very often for months.
Got on my nerves last Saturday because I needed my dosage of leveling
They're having 2.5X exp weekend event for goodness sake!!!!
Dragged myself down to Sim Lim Square and bought a new router.
I was planning to save up this month.
*sigh*
The internet was fast.. everything was fast
All EXCEPT the game!
Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Felt like dying.

Went over to my bf's house yesterday and gamed the whole day.

On the sideline, Starhub and Singnet have a lot of nicknames.
Stinknet, Sinknet, Sucknet, Starfug, Suckhub... oh whatever you call 'em I don't care.

Me and my bf have been quarreling over our ISP choice for a looooong time.
Me on the green side (Starhub) and him on the red side (Singnet).
Sometimes we just had to ask the other to login to somewhere to access something.
Just because the other doesn't allow it at that moment somehow.
Somehow Singnet never gets FlyFF patches automatically unlike Starhub.

At the "end" of the argument,
I concluded.. when we get our own place, I'm buying both lines.
He concluded.. we should get PacNet (or Koala Internet).

Oooookay.. so I have not been a good web mistress and manager.
Been neglecting the clan for a month.
*Feeling guilty*

My excuse?
There weren't any competitions for the teams after WCG.
The SA team players backing out one by one...
Just made me upset.
The CSS team is still working hard but I can see the L4D team fading.
What more, I had work and money problems in the last few months.

Truth is.. all I've been doing is work work work and grinding level when I'm free.

I was looking forward to going overseas to do my work.
Until I realized that I've forgotten all about the buying and planning part.
And I have not even finished fixing some things here.

I'm extremely exhausted!
To the point my schizophrenia and somnambulism are creeping back.
They're definitely not my friends.

Super tired and sleepy right now.
Couldn't sleep well last night.
Keep waking up.

Maybe it's a warning of some sort
But at times I have a very violent thought that will pop up in my head.
If it does solidify into a real life action..

Anyway, last night, as my bf and I were waiting for the lift at his flat..
He was sending me home..
There was a really slow music tone playing by the lift before reaching our floor.
Usually, there would be a "ting" sound when it reaches a floor with no music what-so-ever and opens the door.
This time, it was just the music and then once it reaches the floor,
It opened the door quietly.
It was eerie enough that there was a music tone.
He said the sound was loud.
The way I heard it, it was the normal tone of the lift
But no.. it's not normal for the lift to make music.
Which HDB flat would have music being played by the lift as it moves?
And where's the usual "ting" from the lift when it reaches its designated floor?

Well, just last week, I was over at his house, playing game, as usual
There was a huge "thud" sound from outside and all the stuff in his room shook.
Didn't think much of it until he was gonna send me home
And at the first floor, just beside the lift of his house..
Someone had committed suicide and ermm.. died there.
I only saw a white cloth over the body.
Before the policemen covered the body with a tent.
Apparently, the blood stains was not washed off
From the concrete floor until 2 days later.

There was no music being played when he took the lift this morning.

Gotta go now.
Head hurts from the energy drain.

We were there 2 hours before it started to get good seats.

The 1st half was seriously a boring match.
Not only did the whole lineup was made up of reserves.
The game was dull.

Well.. until Liverpool scored a goal before the referee whistled for half time.

It was quite dark by then but there was a nice cool breeze that night.

The second round was exhilarating.
Liverpool had their main lineup up against most of the tired main Singapore lineup.
I was beginning to feel sorry for the Singapore team.
But.. oh well.. I've always supported Liverpool and Chelsea.

The Singapore team was trashed with a loss of 5-0.

Baby daughter Nora was born on 8th this month.

Come Back To Me

I'm not a fan of watching tv.
What more watching shows like American Idol.
But when I first heard David Cook whilst browsing videos online..
His voice... awesome!

Loooooooooooove the song "Come back to me".

Been through that road countless of times.
Finding myself.
The last soul searching ended up with me
Finding out that it really is not about where you go
Not really about going somewhere far.

Initially, the first few things that will pop up
Could very well be going to somewhere you can relax
Or somewhere you think would be wonderful enough to open up yourself.
Or just wondering anywhere just to find something that will surprise you.
You could jolly well get to know hundreds of people
Go to tons of exotic places
Do a couple of new things
But what if after it all... it doesn't feel fulfilled?
Not saying that these won't help or won't be interesting
Or add some spice to a once dull life.

Just that this time round,
It was more about getting to know what I really need.
Maybe if I did go to certain places
I'd probably want to stay elsewhere.
But what I needed was to be me.
Finding myself again.
It's not finding the "old" me.
It's finding the "evolved but not someone else" me.

Finding what I really wanted to do.
And then at the end of the short trip of finding a small part of me..
Just go with the flow.

I used to plan A LOT when I was younger.
It's great to have plans..
Including plan B and C in case plan A doesn't work out.
But I guess it was one of the factors that turned out to stress me like crazy.
And the first thing I needed to throw out of myself is
Anything that's negative.

I don't know how much negativity that has built up for much too long.
But it was enough to drive me insane.
Literally.
But yeah.. that was definitely the first simplest thing to do.
Simplest thing to remember.
But the hardest to keep doing again and again and again.

I get lost again and again.
They're phases in life whereby you just stop
Watch yourself do things you've never really noticed.
Changing isn't bad..
If it wasn't nearly everything.
But once in a blue moon..
It'll start to feel like you've lost a whole lot of yourself.

It actually can get fun finding pieces of this and that.
It's rejuvenating.
And most of all.. for me.. to find another reason for something.
Yeah.. I need a reason for everything.
And everything happens for a reason.

When you've been through your very own "dying moment"..
Even the simplest of all things that you do everyday..
Say.. breathing.. something you do and take for granted..
It feels.. great being able to just.. well..
Inhale and exhale without interference of any sort.

You'll never know what will come next.

Finding yourself.
For you to find out and for others (your loved ones) to know from you.

These few days...
The feeling of just shutting myself out from doing anything is pretty strong.
Especially playing games.
Maybe I'm too sensitive but the people factor that makes me feel so upset
Regarding gaming is a lot and it's stressing me out.

Gaming was and still is never just a game.
You know what's my definition of fun?
The opposite of what most people would call fun...
More like work for them.

My new toys... errrmmmm.. I'm just in love with "playing" with servers now.
Now, that's fun!
The phase of "playing" with websites has passed.

I had a huge craving for reading for the past one week.
Finally went to the library to pick up some books.
Learning more about network and servers.
I just got a little sick of staring at the monitor screen to read.
Yeah.. my eyesight is getting worse by the minute.

For these few days, everyone... please don't disturb me.
I'm already upset with my ex-boss who I still have to work with.
Even until now, still wanting to find fault in me.
It's so unfair.
What have I ever done?

Can they just send me overseas to some of their offices elsewhere
So I can linger around and see their other network architectures.
I would love to visit their main office in London but
Ahhh.. a little n00b like me won't get to go there as yet.
They're planning to send me to Thailand to set up a new small network.
I hope I can go. *excited.. but hummm.. unsure if I should be excited*

I'd love to visit their Indo office too.. that place is still new.
But oh well.. I doubt I'll have to go there.
The China's office director came down to our office not that long ago.
I doubt I was much of a help with his laptop when he came.
Hehehe..

Was just wishing that I could gain more knowledge from elsewhere.

I must be dreaming too hard.

My bf is asleep now.
He's been really sweet nowadays.
Trying his very best to make me happy when I'm upset.
I should be thankful.. well.. I am.
But he prefers to make me angry more often than making me feel better.

We never really splurge or even spend much for just the both of us.
I did not mention that during my last holiday..
I wanted that to be our first and hopefully more to come.
It's not about spending the money.
It's just that we used to not be able to do much
Because of insufficient monetary terms.
I do love the fact that we'd just spend real quality time together.
But I've always wanted a candlelight dinner.
I've always wanted to explore places.

Then again.. we used to always get lost at night during weekends.
The fact that we love to just walk.. walk.. walk..
Walk to NOWHERE!
Seriously get lost and then finally find a way out to go home.
Never taking taxis.. I hate buses.. so it's always to find a train station.
Yeah.. I miss that.

Singapore had this rule implemented for escalators
Where people had to stand on the left side
So as to allow those who wanted to walk up/down on the right side.

Yesterday was no different except that..
The old man on the right side, one step higher than me..
Somehow fell onto the mid-aged lady standing beside me
Who.. well.. made a little domino on the right side of the escalator.
I caught the old man together with the lady right behind me.
I looked up and wanted to shout to the abled man in front of me to help
Instead of STANDING and LOOKING as if it was some fun free show.
God! That pissed me off.
An indian guy from way behind squeezed up and help the old man 1st
While the rest helped the ones behind.

It has always been that way most of the time.
People would just crowd around to SEE.
Never to help.
Probably one day if something happened to them..
They'd probably love the feeling of being in some freak show.

By then.. no one cares what happens.

That wasn't the first time I helped someone from falling off an escalator.
The 1st time I was with my bf and we were going down.
An old lady was walking down the right side and suddenly she fell.
I held her up before she could hit the metal.
People are heavy considering how small I am.
My bf helped her up while I supported.

Moral of the story..
Be careful on the escalator.

Death isn't a problem
But if you did make yourself half vege..
Things are gonna be really tough although it's not the end of the world.
How ironic that that sentence comes from me.
The one who still doesn't have a firm reason to live.
Yet that is upsetted by the countless reasons not to die.
It's different.

I was talking to an insurance advisor.
I just bought a savings plan.. not insurance.. heh.
And he asked me if I was afraid of the N1H1 (swine flu) thingy.
The people asked him about it because being sick with that is expensive.
So.. it's more about the money than life itself.
Hmmm....

Actually, I can't say I'm afraid of being sick or dying.
Truth is.. in the depths of my head I still have depression lurking around.
That "being dead sounds nice" is still stuck behind being depressed.
Something that will capture me if I fall again.

I'm just afraid I'm letting others down.

What is it with these people?

A LOT of things happened during the blog post hiatus.

Kinda sad and angry that some people seem to have been blinded by..
Well.. the need to win.
It's really sad to see people CHANGE towards others
Just because they want to reach their own goal.
I'm just afraid that it might one day break friendships.
My bf wouldn't want to voice out to them.
I can't say much to them.
He doesn't notice it.
I suppose they can't see it either.
That's just one group.

The other group is filled with youngsters.
Which isn't really a problem.. other than having to stand their constant arguments.
It would've been lesser if they think more maturely..
But come on.. they're young.. what can you expect?
The problem lies with them not knowing what they want.
And reaching their goal at all.
The total opposite from the 1st group.

I still remember why I don't fancy having anything to do with these kinda things.
I just have this mindset that if I can avoid the trouble..
Why go through it unless it's really worth the trouble?
I guess I picked up that trait from my bf
And from what life experiences had taught me.

No one really knows what those troubles were.
Not that I will mention them.
But it doesn't and wouldn't help the situation at that point in time.

I only decided to step in because I know my bf can't and shouldn't be doing it.
He'd be pissed off when I say he can't do it.
But anyway, he doesn't like doing all those things.
Makes him feel negative and it affects me a lot.
I feel sorry for him for having to put up with all those negative
Attitude from those people.
I do get ticked off when he gives way to all these kinda things.
Maybe because it doesn't feel fair.
Can't blame anyone totally.

Their individuality makes them who they are no matter how negative it seems.
I do know that these kinda things need compromises.
It's just... sad.

We got into a little quarrel just now.
I've gotten uber sick of quarreling because of anything to do with gaming.
And I kinda tend to sway towards.. "I don't want to quarrel about this"..
Then we find a way out.

I got extremely frustrated that after I heard about the server down.
I wanted more info to get it fixed.
For one.. I never did have the relevant info to do anything with it
Because I didn't care much about it as more than probably a lot of people
Had access to it and would be able to fix it if it has problems.

And they became frantic and was finding my bf for help which he can't
Cause he never did access it.

When I wanted to get help..
They're saying he's not playing well because he's talking to me.
And wants to boot him out.
The server has gone up again by then.

It has ALWAYS been that way for the past years.
Another reason why I don't want to have anything to do with all of these.
Every time I help with something.. something bad happens.

Last but not least.
I shouldn't be reasoning out to why people always think that
I'm angry ALL the time.
Negativity makes me type in my past blogs and in here.
There are "good times" that I've added as much as possible.
But as most humans always see the the bad sides of a person..
I get to be seen as an angry/sad person most of the time.
Actually, I don't care if you see it that way.
But I suppose I just felt like blurting it out.

I get angry often because I was a perfectionist.
Can't really call it perfectionist because I never believe in the word perfect.
Nothing is perfect in this world.
It's just a word made up for the really extraordinary beauty in things.
Just an ideal.
I'm more of a "I plan something, I have a standard for something,
I know and want something" kinda thing.
Although less obsessed with obtaining the much-wanting result now.
But I'll get angry if all these doesn't match up to the plan/standard/want.

Unfortunately, only my bf gets the feel of the rage.
I love him anywayzzz.

I still think my rage isn't as bad as it used to.
If it was, I wouldn't have moved on from a part of my past.

It has been a tiring weekend.
The guys did a great job during the 2-days Left 4 Dead competition.
Interesting and tough fight but from my point of view,
In just a few weeks, they've improved tremendously.
Good job and congratulations for getting the 4th place!

We watched Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen on Saturday night's midnight slot.
And wow.. the show was stupendous!
Lurvvvvvvvve the fighting scenes!

Yesterday was the last installation to the holiday week plan.
We went out in the late afternoon.

Took the tram ride to Imbiah stop

The grand Merlion.. remember the mini one we took earlier at the Esplanade?
So... who's your daddy? (Warcraft III cheat. LOL!)

Headed to the Sentosa CineBlast.

Rode the Extreme Log Ride.
It was a quick but a fun one.

Then had lunch at a nearby food stall.
This bug was near us so we took a pic of it.
No, it ain't real!

It's called the Caucasus Beetle.
It's not the biggest but it is the strongest in the world.
During a fight, it can lift its opponent up into the air with its horns.

We didn't visit the Butterfly Park though.

We didn't even have lunch before coming down to Sentosa.

This is called the Tiger Sky Tower.

Deemed as Asia's tallest standing observation tower,
You can catch panoramic views across Singapore, Sentosa and the Southern Islands.
It actually revolves (turns as it rises up and down) slowly
To a height of 131 metres above sea level.

Next stop, UnderWater World!

If you haven't or couldn't notice it by now,

It can grow up to 70+++ kg as an adult octo.

Watashi Wa Japanese Giant Spider Crab.
Fully grown, it can reach a leg span of almost 4 m (13 ft)!

We headed back to Imbiah Station and rode the Luge and Skyride.
Unfortunately, the camera battery died off.
We took the double ride so we tried both twice.

It was funnnnnnnnnnnn!
After the second skyride, we took the tram back to Vivo City.
Had dinner there and headed home.

I'm not gonna say anything about my last job.
Although I'm really infuriated by my ex-boss.
Just glad that things are simmering down again.
My last day of work was last Thursday.
Feel soooooo glad that I'm finally getting my well deserved break!

Didn't do anything on Friday.
Internet was lagging so no gaming.
Which I pretty much didn't mind (not gaming).

Saturday, Sunday and Monday was a FlyFF marathon though.
Ironic.
Kinda sad that the double exp ended.
I was one of the twitter adder.
:P

Tuesday, we had a go with the Duck Tours.
Nothing fancy.. just felt good that I finally got to try out something new.
LOL!

The tallest wheel in the world.. for now.. will be taken over by China's upcoming wheel.

It was quite touching actually.
I just like the humanity bits and pieces.
A little silly in a way but seems alright to me overall.

We had a sky dining experience yesterday.
A dinner in the cable car.
The serving proportion wasn't much.. sadly.
But it was delicious nonetheless.
Anyway, it was a great one-time experience.
